I studied this unit in semester 1, 2013, so the course content/structure may have changed since then. Assessments items were: - Group work/Weekly discussion board responses (10%). Each group of 10 had to post a weekly response to the discussion question (a collaboration of your group's answer and ideas) - A 1,000 word community profile (40%) - A 1,500 word essay (choice of 2 topics) (50%) The unit coordinator (Bernie Glab) was great. The instructions for the first assignment (community profile) were initially a bit vague in what was expected but we were subsequently given lots of input on how to set it out, what to include etc Also, I was an external student and it was the first time I'd had to do group work online. I had a good group, but some of the other students in the unit experienced a bit of frustration because not everyone participated in their group (some only had 2 or 3 out of a group of 10 participating). Overall an enjoyable and interesting unit.
