MMI preparation for MD entry. I am a mature-aged UQ Doctor of Medicine student (MD2) with a Management Consulting background and experience in official university tutoring and mentorship. My sole tutoring focus nowadays is helping applicants excel at the Multiple Mini Interview to gain entry into MD programs. I received a >90% interview score and >80% of applicants I worked with in 2024 received an offer for 2025. I approach the MMI as an opportunity to demonstrate 'who you are' rather than 'what you know', as an indicator of your ability to safely interact with patients and collaborate effectively in a healthcare setting. I do not see this as a knowledge exam you need to study facts for. My tutoring sessions include format specific mock interviews with feedback that focuses on compassion and kindness, integrity, adaptability, team work, and verbal communication skills, i.e., the actual type of criteria you are assessed on. I’ve had Rico as a tutor for BIOM2011 and GAMSAT preparation and he is brilliant at explaining the harder concepts in a way that’s easy to understand. He’s extremely knowledgeable and has a genuine passion for teaching and helping his students, and with his help I was able to attain a 7.
