Hi I'm Evan (he/him), With over 10 years as a university student and researcher, and 10 years of experience tutoring from high-school to masters level, I am enthusiastic about helping you achieve your learning goals. Currently working as a Research Assistant at UQ whilst awaiting the assessment of my PhD thesis in evolutionary-developmental biology, I have a proven track record of academic success and a broad experience across biology, neuroscience, statistics and bioinformatics. Aside from private tutoring, I have also worked as a lab demonstrator for first year biology courses at UQ, and have trained and mentored many Honours and PhD research students in molecular and cellular neuroscience methods and statistical analysis of biological data. I completed a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Neuroscience) at UNSW with First Class Honours in 2018 and worked full-time as a Research Assistant in a molecular neuroscience laboratory prior to moving to Brisbane to pursue my PhD. I am particularly passionate about helping students upgrade their skills in R and Python for data science in order to streamline their work, automate their data analysis, and boost their employability. I have specialist subject knowledge, with peer-reviewed publications, in the following areas: - Cellular and molecular biology - Neuroscience - Developmental biology - Statistics - Bioinformatics - R programming - Evolutionary biology and phylogenetics - Physiology I am also available to consult on statistics, data analysis and experimental design for HDR research students (Honours/Masters).
