Follows up the probability that you've done in Methods in Year 12. The first two weeks revise the basics, but soon ramps up pretty sharply. For Semester 1 2026 the lectures were at Wed 8am, and the blackboard wasn't recorded (where all the teaching was going onto) which made it hard to learn especially if you couldn't make it - not sure if this will be the same going forward. Ed is a friendly lecturer but sometimes it's hard to distinguish between what's going to be assessed, and what is there for conceptual understanding/ a challenge, especially in the tutorial questions. The midsem and final exam heavily reuse tutorial questions (many are one-to-one!) so really make sure you understand the tutorials work and it'll be okay. Personally, the first half of content was harder (joint and multiple random variables), and the second half was easier (random and Poisson processes and Markov chains). Assignments were pretty easy (I'm pretty sure the lecturer recommends to use AI to help you with it) so use that as easy marks.
