As has been previously stated, easy distinction, but perhaps not so easy HD. There are 3 assignments, which are a 5 minute solo presentation, 4 minute podcast episode and 3 minute video, all of which should be about a scientific topic, which the unit coordinator is quite lenient about. Attendance isn't compulsory nor essential, but somewhat helpful if you want to practice speaking and to get feedback. The workload to get a distinction is very low, from my experience.

A very social unit with very interesting tutorials. It really allowed me to branch out of my comfort zone and really honed my public speaking abilities

A very social unit with some tutorials almost turning into drama class. Would not recommend if you're highly anti-social or suffer from anxiety. But definitely take this up if you're willing to go through social hell for a quick distinction.

If you're the person who will put an effort in the unit, and expecting an HD. For people who need a high GPA to get to medicine or work, grad roles, don't take this one. You won't do great as the marks are designed to be roughly around 65-75. Marking is quite subjective, and there exists bias in between tutors. If you're happy with that mark range, then do take the unit if you are interested. They do give good feedback, but I think there's a limit on what you can improve on, and learn from the unit. If you want to improve your speeches, you can find better avenues like joining clubs to make it better. Speeches give you special anxiety, because you are marked based on everything. Also a social unit, and would not recommend this for people who are anti-social or suffer from speech anxiety.
