I hated this unit but it was not hard. There are 3 summatives worth 15% which are fully MCQ and a final exam worth 55%. Phil teaches most of the unit. He is a lovely fellow, but his teaching is the disjointed and flat out horrible. His kahoots are worth watching; he recycles plenty of questions from the kahoot into the summatives and it's easy to score high for all of them. Beware tho, ignore the learning outcomes and just memorise everything because Phil likes to test tiny useless and contrived details, even if they have nothing to do with pharmacology. Despite his terrible lectures, the final was rather easy. You get to choose between 2 questions for each topic and the questions require 0 application, only memorising so I'd say that as far as lvl 3 exams go, this was not at all bad. Alex tang also teaches the last 6 lectures and all I can say is his lectures are a blessing; only 30 minutes each. Liz has more content heavy lectures, but hers are organised. For the final boss of the pharmacology major, this unit is not difficult, but the poor teaching makes it annoying and hard to study.

Expected this unit to be a lot harder since it is the final theory unit in the pharm major, but it turned out to be very doable. The exam was all essay-type questions (each "essay" is 0.5-2 pages long, sometimes the answer required only one sentence though). It was a very easy exam, no trick questions. It was also easy to maintain a 80-100% average before the final exam. DON'T SKIP PHIL'S KAHOOT SESSIONS! There are three MCQ tests during semester, and he often included questions from the practice kahoots in the real MCQ tests. That being said, this unit was the hardest unit in the pharm major (a lot more chemistry focus). ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ ʔ

This unit followed the same assessment structure as PHAR3321 - 3 MCQ tests across the semester, and then a final SAQ/extended answer only exam. The MCQ tests were quite easy (class average was ~80% for them), however in each test Phil would test some weird trivial knowledge on 1-2 of the questions (e.g. a random statistic about the number of FDA-approved drugs in the past x years). Exam was alright. Overall not too bad.

Great unit, cannot recommend enough for a pure theory unit. The tests are hard but very preparable for a level 3 unit. Exam was straight forward and was mostly from the practice exam qs from prev years. You learn a lot and you feel rewarded for your preparation. Solid unit
