Reviews

Decent enough unit with a lot of assignments and labs. There's 3 labs and 3 assignments which are all group work (the pain is very much reduced with a good team), which take up a lot of time to do. Assignments have a 3 page limit, which makes it hard to fit everything within that, but labs don't have that limit and are a lot more work as a result - ours was consistently hitting 20+ pages. Fortunately, only your top lab, assignment and other milestone (basically top 3) gets counted towards your 30%, so if you're able to do well in the first few milestones you can skip some to reduce your workload later on. This practically only comes into effect by the time lab/assignment 3 rolls around because of the marking times, but if you wanted to gamble... Content isn't super hard, but knowing Laplace transforms is helpful for the beginning. The maths start to abstract later on when doing root locuses, becoming more of a checklist where you have to "do A, then B, then C" to get the question done. YouTube videos are good if you're stuck conceptually. Tests stick fairly close to the tutorials but you may have to redo the questions more than once to truly understand them. Final exam is only 40%, but is significantly harder than tests.
