This was one of the best gender studies classes I've done, though I was very fortunate to have an excellent class instructor. For our assessments we did an experiential investigation, group poster and in-class reflection. I felt the content was a bit of a step up from previous GEND units, but they added a 1 hour tutorial on Mondays this year, in addition to the 2 hour workshop of Fridays, which really allowed us to engage with the concepts fully as a class. We also got to talk with some science-based academics, Heather and Demelza, who were both able to offer valuable perspectives, and contrast Chantal when necessary. It is not an easy subject, and will certainly challenge you no matter your academic background, but I believe the hard work is worth it. I got a HD in all assessments and for my overall grade, so I feel pretty qualified to recommend this subject.

So unorganised, the weekly quizzes weren't hard, but never got released when they should be. Hated that 25% of the unit was dialogic, because if you don't understand something and can't contribute, you won't get a good grade. Unit co-ordinator is so slow at marking assessments.
