Very easy unit to pass. They grade you via continuous assessment so there's heaps of opportunities to get marks. There's lectures, labs (assessed), lab quiz, lecture quiz, practical lab assessment and an exam. (It sounds like a lot but its really not and you get multiple tries at the quizzes to get your score up.) The exam was really easy if you took notes during the lectures, they test you on absolutely everything from the unit but they give you everything you need to pass. Make sure you pay attention to the learning objectives. You can take one page of notes into the exam and you get a practice exam as well which is kind of similar. I would recommend actually turning up to the lectures because there's a lot of information and it's easier to do it with friends. Also you get to do heaps of fun practical things in the labs, like dissect plants and animals. Most people do this unit because they have to but it would also probably be a fun elective and it's really not a hard unit.

Overall this was a pretty good unit. Really interesting content and most of the lecturers were fantastic! I would say it could be organised a bit better regarding the climate watch stuff - there are some assignments where the due dates are confusing and all over the place and you don't even know what to submit. I also think the group assignment was way too much work for the weight of your final grade considering there's also an exam. Stay on top of the lectures, readings and quizzes and you'll be fine.

This unit is fairly interesting with really fun labs (I dissected a cane toad!) and at least one off campus excursion. While the content itself isn't terribly difficult to grasp, I'd say 95% of the lecturers aren't the best to learn from. You might get one that's good at explaining, but has a monotonous voice - or one that's really enthusiastic but explains things in a convoluted manner. But at the end of the day, at least half of the assessments (including the exam) is multi-choice, so it shouldn't be too overwhelming.

As what the unit name is, plant and animal biology. In this unit, you'll need to attend all the labs throughout the semester. The labs will be divide into two categories, the animal labs and the plant labs. In the animal labs, you have the opportunity to touch the animals and even dissect the animals. Observations and records are needed to be done in the labs. This is same for the plant labs. There'll be few off campus trips. Hope you guys enjoy this unit. Have fun!
