Reviews

Throughouly enjoyed this unit alongside others, Marcel Peruffo is a great lecturer who takes his time to answer questions and explain things, but importantly frame it within a real world context to put some intuition behind the maths. The maths is okay, not ridiculously hard but constraint problems which make sense and have intuition behind them. Highly reccomend this unit if Marcel is the co-ordinator, the first course I've really enjoyed so far in uni, lots of discussion on the Aus housing market and economy as a whole outside of the content in the course which was really insightful and interesting, overall 10/10 course and lecturer!

If you are interest on getting a good grasp of what drives the ups and downs in the economy and security prices, take this unit. I think the previous reviews are based on the fact that David Kim didn't teach the unit in their semesters. He was an outperforming lecturer. Good assignments, good final exams. Now, there is a caveat. Don't think this is just another theory-based unit. It can be highly mathematical, and will require long hours of pondering. Econometrics background HIGHLY recommended.

Dreadful lecturer (Stephen Kirchner). Instead of using pen & paper, he went through the tutorials by just reading off the answers which was provided by his predecessor (David Kim).

A difficult unit but was taught badly. Complete and utter waste of time. Do not take this unless you really have no other choice.
