Absolutely terrible and extremely rough subject. Assignment specifications are unclear and contradictory at times. Tutorial notes are a bit lacking. Even worse, introducing practical assessments made this subject worse than previous years.

An excellent primer on C, Unix and parallel programming. Expect to be working in a linux environment; learning the fundamentals of the terminal, bash scripting, the C language and the POSIX threads parallel computing library.
