Reviews

Really valuable subject - probably the most important thus far in preparing you for being a practising psychologist. Assignments really got you thinking and let you engage a lot in applying ethics and evidence. You definitely need to spend some time thinking about what you really need to do/show in the assignments, but if you do that you absolutely can do extremely well in this subject. 4 stars instead of 5 because there were some lectures that felt a little random (mainly in second half of semester) and I thought they could have been more complex or cover more content at a fourth year level.

One of those subjects that you just have to get pass whether you hate it or love it.

Messy in organisation but vague assignment guidelines

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2021

This subject sort of feels like "shoving in everything that's needed to meet APAC's requirements". It's a bit messy in organisation, but isn't hard to do well in.

This subject is called Ethics and Evidence-Based Practice now (I've heard it's changed a lot). The lectures were interesting and the tutes were enjoyable, with lots of engaging class conversation, despite undertaking this subject online. The assignments were the downfall. These were terribly explained, with the discussion board filled with 200+ questions for each assignment. It was really difficult to understand what was expected from you, and a lot of my peers were disappointed in their marks because of this. A pro tip is to start them early (and scroll through every single post in the discussion board). This is basically one of the only ways to get through. But pros? No exam!
