Really wasn't a fan of this subject's lectorial structure - the content is so broad that you really do need a seperate lecture to get your head around everything first. 2 hours every week of a combined lecture and class, also combined with online lectures and readings you had to have completed beforehand made the abundance of content seem more overwhelming. I adore British history, in fact it is my favourite kind of history and I didn't do poorly in the end as I had begun to fear, but this subject really sucked the life out of it for me. I dreaded this subject every week. I don't underestimate the knowledge and skill of our tutor but when you get little to no written feedback on your assignments and have to listen to the content being drummed into you for 2 straight hours every week, again on top of wrapping your head around the content you've watched and read at home, it makes the subject feel exhausting and dry.

This subject drove me insane. The content was really interesting, but it was taught in the most boring way and they didn't give me any feedback for my assignments. It was obvious the tutor was just bored of teaching this subject and couldn't be bothered anymore. If you're willing to put up with that, then it does cover some very interesting time periods.
