BEST SUBJECT EVER! If you or your family does wine or are just simply interested about it and want to know what all the fuss surrounding it is all about, take this subject! Jackie and Max are the most phenomenal teachers you'll have; extremely passionate, really engaging and very interesting! Also the nicest people you'll meet! Lectures are absolutely fascinating and the practicals are amazing! You get to taste 6 different wines on each days from all over France (and some from Australia and other place in Europe too!) This is a nice subject for those wanting a bit of change in style for their subjects. This is also one of the few subjects where the assessments are actually enjoyable to do. This is an intensive, so the teaching times each day runs from 10am-5pm -- so, it can be quite intense and exhausting, but ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. A 10/10, 5 star subject, and I would definitely recommend to everyone, even if they have zero knowledge about wine, because you'll a lot and I mean A LOT throughout this one week intensive!

This has been my favourite unit at UniMelb so far. The classes, taken over a week, are extremely tight-knit and you easily make new friendships. The lecturers, Jackie and Max, are extremely knowledgeable on the course content. Although the unit focuses mainly on French winemaking, the incorporation of wine-tasting was integrated seamlessly into each day's content. The assessments were also fun to complete and weren't overwhelming, definitely a positive for an intensive unit. Overall, 10/10 would recommend to anyone with an interest in wine.
