Reviews

Overall well-organised subject with a fairly doable workload alongside another coursework subject (The recommended workload - More is probably doable but I was too lazy/burnt-out to attempt this). Also recently became a pass/fail subject, which is a bonus in my view as it means you don't need to be stressing too much about marks. The subject assessment has a focus on soft/professional skills so it is general to all engineering/IT majors. It was helpful to reflect on experiences through the assessment tasks, although honestly don't feel much of the academic theory is relevant/useful in the real world. Overall, doing this subject was worth it for me in the sense that I got a position by applying through the Internship portal, although I think I'd prefer to have done technical eng/IT electives instead had I sourced my own position before applying. But not too difficult a subject if you're working in the industry and just want 25 points of degree credit.
