Note that as of 2026 this subject code is now Arthurian Women. Also note that Arthurian Women is a fantastic class that I thoroughly enjoyed. It's a fast-paced run through Arthurian literature since Geoffrey of Monmouth, arguably as much a history class as it is an English one. The lecturer, Mairi, is super passionate, and people actually engage in the tutorials which is really nice. It does require some background knowledge of King Arthur, since a lot of the focus is on specific female characters rather than the canon as a whole, but hey you also get to watch BBC's Merlin as homework.

Lectures generally interesting, plays a mixed bag (some very good), tutes were kind of pointless, not much guidance (criteria, expectations, etc.) given for assessment, secondary readings are the worst thing ever but you only need them for the assessments. Generally fine but as with all lit, save yourself the stress/bullshitting (whichever is your student style) and take the plays as light reading over the holidays.
