PLEASE please listen to the latest reviews if you’re planning on taking this subject as a WAM booster; the people gushing about this subject took it when it was entirely online, including all the assessments, and therefore a subject where you could snooze through the whole semester and score H1. Unfortunately now with the on-campus exam it’s NOT the WAM booster it used to be. Scored decently but went into this expecting a high H1 to pull up my average and if your thought process is anything like mine was, I promise you this subject isn’t worth it - save yourself a lot of stress during the exam season. The lectures are dull and I believe a few years old as well. The content has the potential to be quite interesting and the application of legal principles was somewhat fun but unfortunately with the way it’s structured (dear God, so many weeks of just contract law) it sucks all the life out of you. It’s an online subject so it’s easy to fall behind, unless you’re intrinsically motivated and/or quite disciplined, especially because the workshops and seminars are all optional. By the time I hit Week 5 I was already TIRED, because with content this theory heavy and a lecturer who puts you to sleep, it’s impossible to push yourself to stay consistent. The quizzes are easy but the exam is worth 80% of your grade and not only is it harder than the lecturers make it out to be, and def harder than the practise materials they give, it’s also only an hour and a half long. Any advantage of the subject being open book goes right out of the window, and even though I went into the exam prepared with my own detailed notes, all labelled and knowing exactly where every bit of required content was, I essentially had no time to revise; if I had brought the textbook in I would have not finished the exam. The only saving grace is that it gave me breathing room to score H1s in all my other subjects. But ironically my 'WAM boosting' buffer ended up being the lowest score and ruined my average :( this isn’t the worst of subjects, but for me, it was stress-inducing, expensive, not high-scoring in the least and the biggest mistake I made this semester.

The content was pretty fun and interesting but the exam was much more harshly marked than expected and destroyed my wam.

Grade: H1, 83 Provides a solid introduction to legal concepts relevant to commerce and health industries. While the content is useful, the delivery can feel dry at times unless you're especially interested in law.

It's online and content is rather dry. A simple prerequisite, that's it.

Grade: H1 83. Not fun and not really a WAM booster either. A very boring subject to take. Can't really recommend this unless you either have an interest in law or its relevance to your own interests in business. 80% staked on the exam is not cool either. Found myself binging old shows like the walking dead while copying from ppt slides. One tip is to definitely make a google doc containing all relevant content (mine ended up being 40000 words+ and 158 pages long) to ctrl f during the three online open book assessments. The subject is not difficult, but it is certainly not enjoyable.

I took this online so cannot say much about the experience with the subject. I took this as a prerequisite, definitely not my kind of subject. Wouldn't call it a wam booster either. Overall, it is a really straightforward and a bit bland subject to take.

Straightforward but I found it pretty dry. Only a WAM booster if you are willing to put in some work. However, it was well-run.

I would not say this is an easy subject for H1 We got short-answer questions in the final exam this semester so the time management of the exam is quite difficult. Overall the course content is very useful, recommend for students who interested in law.

I loved this subject! It was so straightforward and the lecturer was always so keen in classes. The biggest plus point is that you can take a sheet of notes into the final exam - this is beyond helpful. Overall, an easy H1 and worth it!
