So poorly organised. I think one of the worst things was the switch to workshops instead of lectures, meaning that every week instead of learning content, you would go drop in if you wanted feedback from the subject coordinators. The pre-recorded lectures to watch had very little relevance to what we were doing, and were more theoretical. The requirements for each assignment are set our clearly, but it's not at all clear what they want to see in each one, which meant that a lot of the time during the crits, they were discussing things that nobody had done, despite not even having told us what to do. Even the final review (which takes place during the exam period, NOT during the actual semester) was glossed over until the very end, and I wouldn't have even known it was happening until the second last week. My tutor emailed us the time and place the day before. Not as bad as DPT in my opinion, as I think if you put a little less effort, you can finish the assignments in less time than they claim and still scrape decent grades, but still not a great learning experience or workload.

I agree with the reviewers who cite the poor management and communication of this subject, and that effort doesn't seem proportional to grade. The salt in the wound is the readings and lectures that only get more pretentious as the semester goes on (A Bigger Splash is particularly egregious, it's almost completely incomprehensible). Keep yourself entertained by making a running tally of every time either Rem Koolhaas, OMA, or Le Corbusier crop up somehow. Bet you won't beat my high score!

I have never worked so hard in my life for such a sub-par grade. My tutor was absolutely lovely and the only saving grace about this subject. I worked 15 hours a day for 4 days straight (wish I was kidding) leading up to the final assessment just to finish what was required (and unfortunately wasn't the only one). Just make sure to stay seriously on top of things while undertaking this class.

Most unorganised subject taught in the design course. Assessment expectations were different to what was mentioned in the subject guide and the subject guide was extremely vague when it came to deliverables. Studio's were poor, learnt almost nothing throughout the semester. Lectures were either late, non-existent or repeats from previous years. Co-ordination team were impossible to contact(often took follow ups, might get a reply after 5+days). It's amazing this subject is still allowed to be run with such terrible organisation.

Extremely poorly organised, confusing and vague assessments and frustrating interactions with the people who ran it the subject. No one really knew what was going on or what was being expected (students, tutors or the coordinator) and assignments were often thrown together at the last minute leaving students scrambling to change their previous designs or create new drawings.
