I enjoyed this subject and got an H1 (I wouldn’t call it a WAM booster subject though). The content is really interesting and Tammy the lecturer did a great job of drawing upon fun and engaging examples. There were quite a lot of readings at the beginning of the semester but they got less frequent as the semester progressed. Make sure to engage with the readings as it’s a requirement to cite a couple of them in the final research essay. The assignment criteria could sometimes be a bit vague but my tutor Simon did an excellent job at providing additional guidance on how to interpret the assignment. Both Tammy and my tutor were incredibly approachable which made it really easy to ask questions. I enjoyed the assignments as they gave us a lot of freedom to investigate an area of interest. For assignments 1 & 2 there were no set research questions which meant I was really able to pick a topic I enjoyed. The lectures could have been structured a bit better but on the whole I think this is a great subject (and a fairly new one so I’m sure things will improve in future semesters). Bonus: in most lectures Tammy brought food for us to eat!
