Monash IT Tutor Shubhangi

Hi! I'm Shubhangi, a Bachelor of Computer Science (Advanced) student at Monash Clayton and I teach highschoolers as my hobby, explaining tricky concepts to students is literally my passion. Units I tutor: FIT1045 (Introduction to Programming): Python fundamentals, loops, functions, recursion, debugging, and how to actually approach the assignments without panic. FIT2081 (Mobile Application Development): Android with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVVM, working with APIs, and getting your app assignment from "it crashes" to "it works and looks good." I've completed these units recently myself and I build Android apps outside of class (my latest uses Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVVM and a REST API), so I know both the course side and the real-world side. My teaching style: I don't just hand over solutions, I focus on the why, because that's what the assignments and exams actually test. Expect worked examples, live coding together, and breaking confusing topics into steps that make sense. As a TA, I've seen exactly where students get stuck, so we can skip straight to fixing the real gaps. Where: On campus at Clayton (library/learning spaces) or online via Zoom, whatever suits you. Rates: $[45–50]/hour individual, $[30]/hour each for groups of 2+. I speak English, Hindi and Nepali, so happy to explain in whichever clicks best.
