UQ Engineering Tutor Shashwat

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Queensland working on the dynamics, vibration analysis of offshore power cables. My research combines analytical modelling using concepts from structural dynamics, vibrations, and engineering mechanics, numerical simulation in Abaqus and MATLAB post-processing. I can help students with ENGG1400 Dynamics, MECH2210 Intermediate Mechanical & Space Dynamics, MECH2700 Engineering Analysis I, and MECH3200 Advanced Dynamics & Vibrations. My teaching style is step-by-step and concept-focused. I aim to help students understand the physics behind equations, free-body diagrams, vibration fundamentals, numerical methods, and problem-solving procedures rather than just memorising formulas. I can also support students with weekly tutorials, assignment preparation, exam revision, MATLAB/Abaqus-related analysis, and strengthening fundamentals in mechanics and dynamics. I am available for online tutoring and may also be able to tutor on or near campus depending on timing.
