I’m a 2nd-year Civil Engineering student with a passion for making complex concepts simple and manageable. I currently maintain a Distinction average WAM across all my subjects. As an international student, I understand the unique challenges of studying in a second language. I am fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and I’m happy to conduct our sessions in whichever language makes you feel most comfortable and confident. Assistance with engineering fundamentals, mathematics, and core civil units: MATH1131, MATH1231, ENGG1300, CVEN2101, ENGG1811, MATH2019, ENGG2400, ENGG2500, CVEN2303, CVEN2002. I provide past papers with solutions, study tips and weekly content recap. I prioritize understanding, interaction, and building confidence, rather than rote memorization. During class, I adjust the pace according to the students' current level. For students with weaker foundations, I don't immediately tackle complex problems; instead, I patiently help them identify the underlying concepts they're stuck on, then gradually build a problem-solving framework. I don't just want to help students solve a problem; I want them to know how to approach similar problems in the future. If a student is completely clueless about a problem, I usually guide them step-by-step through the analysis: (1) What is the question asking? → (2) What do we already know? → (3) What do we need to find? → (4) Which concept should we apply? → (5) How do we begin the first step? → (6) How do we check the answer? The teaching atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Students can interrupt me at any time, saying, "I don't understand this" or "I don't know why I have to do this." I think these are normal questions, and there's no need to feel embarrassed about simple questions or getting a question wrong. It's more important to clarify anything you don't understand beforehand than to force yourself to keep up with the pace. I am available for sessions at the university or online.
