NEAR CAPACITY GAMSAT S3 - 99th Percentile Hi! My name is Keanu and I'm currently studying Medicine at USYD. I have tutored for over 6 years, with a focus on HSC mathematics and physics at all levels, as well as Section 3 of GAMSAT for the last 2.5 years. Section 3 tests your ability to think logically given a set of rules and information, not unlike maths or programming. You do NOT need a science background to significantly improve your Section 3 scores! I focus mostly on reasoning with the information provided. While much of the recommended Chemistry and Biology knowledge can be useful in speeding up your understanding of the context, this is not where marks will improve for most students. Section 3 should only take 2-3 months to prepare for most motivated students. The actual GAMSAT today (almost) always provides you with all the information you need to reason the correct answer. Some maths and physics concepts may be recommended to students who require revision of basic concepts (e.g. graph interpretation, log rules, rates, etc.), based on any deficiencies that become clear during lessons that are worth addressing; mathematical ability is a crucial skill for S3 reasoning.
