Hi everyone, I'm Bryan, a current unimelb tutor tutoring in the faculty of business and economics, specifically in the department of finance. I have a BCom in Accounting and Finance (grad 2019), with an Honours in Accounting (grad 2021) from the University of Melbourne. I started teaching in 2020 during COVID, and taught in the department of accounting for 2 years. I have a strong passion for helping others and love to teach. My teaching style is based off the individual student, but usually it involves understanding where the student is at currently, addressing any issues that they may have, and working on prior knowledge to scaffold into new concepts. Subjects that I've taught include Accounting Reports and Analysis [ARA] (6 semesters), Corporate Financial Decision Making [CFDM] (5 semesters), Principles of Finance [POF] (4 semesters), Introductory Personal Finance [IPF] (2 semesters), Introductory Financial Accounting [IFA] (1 semester). My tutor ratings have been excellent thus far, with an average score of 4.9/5 across multiple semesters. I believe that I am uniquely positioned to help students given my experience and wide range of subjects taught. My going rate currently is $60 per hour but if this is unsustainable for you, please feel free to reach out to work something out. I can do a 20% discount for group sessions. We can have our sessions on campus, at home, or at university accomodation. Hope to hear from you soon :)

I had an exceptional experience with Bryan. He was my Corporate Financial Decision Making (CFDM) tutor last semester. He’s not just a great tutor—he’s a genuinely nice person who really cares about his students’ learning. He explains things so clearly and always makes sure everyone is on the same page. What really stands out is that he often goes beyond his usual tutor and consultation hours to help clarify any doubts I might have, which I truly appreciate. His teaching style is fun and engaging, and he has this incredible way of making complex topics feel simple and accessible. In class, he encourages everyone to participate and makes sure we all feel comfortable speaking up. If someone gives an incorrect answer, he never says, “you’re wrong.” Instead, he’ll say, “close enough,” and then guide us to the right answer. It’s such a small thing, but it makes a big difference—he helps us build confidence, making us feel like we can contribute without worrying about making mistakes. Honestly, his class is the one I look forward to the most. Despite being two hours long, it never feels that way because of how engaging and effective his teaching is. The time just flies by, and I always leave the class knowing that I’ve learned something valuable.
