I'm currently studying Doctor of Medicine(MD2) at the University of Melbourne and have completed a Bachelor of Science and Honours project in Evolutionary Biology. My WAM for my undergrad is 89. Melbourne University currently employs me as a tutor for ITAS and i have 4 years of experience tutoring tertiary subjects. I have an average H1 for my course and have achieved an H1 in all subjects that I tutor. As well as the listed subjects I also tutor for the GAMSAT. I have sat the GAMSAT 3 times, improved an average of 10 points for each section over my successive attempts, and scored within the 95th percentile overall( 96th percentile, 98th percentile and 90th percentile for S1, S2 and S3 respectively). I can succinctly pinpoint high-yield areas for improvement resulting in great results even with time constraints. I am able to mark S2 essays and provide assistance approaching S1 and S3 questions. I am also able to provide MMI preparation sessions for those sitting upcoming medical interviews. I can advise on the best practice for approaching and structuring answers. I also aim to give insight into how to best characterise your individuality under time-restrictive conditions. I have an extremely collaborative teaching style and love to make a session engaging and fun. For me, passion is the key to learning and remembering. This, combined with appropriately structured content and the application of the information, is what I find, helps students the most. I also like to structure my teaching style around your personal learning style I can assist in scientific essay writing, historical essay writing, and exam preparation in numerous neuroscience and psychology subjects. I can also assist in helping you to establish good study routines and employ active recall learning. I am happy to offer a discounted rate for groups. Sophie helped me immensely with my S1 preparations for the GAMSAT this year and was a fantastic tutor! Whilst she provided me with strategies that worked for her, what I especially appreciated was that she always went above and beyond to tailor her advice to my needs within this section. Our lessons consisted of a mixture of going through practice questions, and discussing why I got the answers incorrect and what specific strategies I needed to implement to overcome the issue I was having. With this approach our lessons were more focussed on actively engaging with learning and skill-building. She is also a kind and patient tutor who provided me with continual encouragement, which helped me to maintain my focus on improving my skills throughout our time together.

Sophie is everything you would want in a tutor and more! Kind, articulate and supportive. Sophie's contributions to my GAMSAT preparations were significant. She provided me with a wealth of knowledge as well as considerable insight into techniques and strategies for improving my S1 GAMSAT abilities. Her explanations for questions were always thorough and easy to understand. Additional to this, every lesson she showed genuine interest in how I was feeling in the lead up to GAMSAT as well as asking how my efforts were progressing with the other 2 sections, not just section 1 which she was tutoring me for. I was fortunate enough to have Sophie tutor me for Research-based human physiology. Sophie is very capable, intelligent and kind. She will go above and beyond to ensure help is provided. She is also very organised and always manages to find a time that works. She also uses an online page to keep track of everything which helped me stay on top of my work.
