RMIT Science Tutor Tharkeshi

Hi, I am a PhD student in Statistics at RMIT university, City Campus. I completed a Bachelor of Science Honours degree, specialized in Statistics from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and awarded with two gold medals for the highest overall GPA and the best final year project in Statistics in 2016. In addition to Statistics, I also followed Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. I also competed a Masters by Research degree (MPhil) in Biostatistics at University of Melbourne in 2020. I currently work as a casual sessional tutor in Statistics at RMIT University and have 2 years of work experience in lecturing at the Department of Statistics, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. During this period, I delivered series of lectures including Quality Control, Operations Research and Health Statistics and prepared final year examination papers and engaged in paper marking. I also conducted lab sessions for undergraduates to familiarize them with statistical software such as Excel, SPSS, MINITAB and SAS. Furthermore, in my PhD I conduct my analaysis using R software. As an experienced university tutor/lecturer, I look forward to support the students who undertake Statistics courses at any year of study in following ways: * Prepare students for exams * Cover lecture notes * Support to get familiarized with statistical software.
