Language component is well-structured and assessments are pretty clear, although personally I found it a bit boring and slow. In-class opportunities for speaking/grammar practice are good. Culture component is quite boring unless you have a very strong interest in German culture/literature/history, and is worth way too much of the overall mark (50%). Would recommend this unit (and the sequel ATS2094) if you find learning a language in a classroom environment helpful and think you can deal with the culture component -- if not it might not be the best choice.

A fantastic unit if you have some background in the German language. Too easy if you completed German at a VCE level, though. (Would suggest ATS2095 if you have). Really fantastic tutors, however the culture component lacks structure and can be boring. Fantastic language tutorials with engaging activities made up for this!
