Worst unit ever. They appointed a bad lecturer, who does nothing but reads lecture slides every lecture (not to mention that lectures have an awful lot of errors), to teach this unit this semester. Assignments are harshly marked. Don't be fooled, guys!

I agree about the lecturer..

If you have any statistical or mathematical background this will be a repeat of anything you have learnt in the past except for 1 or 2 topics at most which may seem new. Planet uni afterall.

Very fun unit. I basically felt like I was learning secret rules and tricks behind a whole heap of games that I knew about but never fully understood before. The lecturer is fun and engaging, full of fun facts about the content. Workload is very manageable, especially if you've studied stat170 as there is a bit of overlap. This unit has a tiny bit of maths in it, but if you attend the pracs/lectures and keep on top of prelabs and lecture questions, it all pieces together in nice small chunks. Textbook also has heaps of practice questions.

The way the content was related to everyday life was interesting and helpful. However, unless you're statistically minded this unit is difficult to master.
