great lesson to begin learning Japanese, but more for people who are really serious about learning and are dedicated to sitting down every week and putting time into studying and answering the weekly quizzes. it requires a lot from you so I would not recommend taking as an elective. Would probably best taken internally rather than online so you can really practice with other people.

A really solid intro to Japanese. Would recommend for anyone serious about learning the language. Wouldn't recommend for a casual elective. It takes focus and a lot of revision to really get a good grasp of the content.

JPS101 is a good platform for anyone interested in the language. It will not be too challenging for those who has some background on the language but can prove to be a struggle for those who has little to none knowledge on it. Best advice is: Don't take the unit lightly. If you do so, there is only a slim chance of moving on to JPS102
