As a core subject that's forced on students, this subject should be rated 0. There is no room for any other 'contemporary political analysis' that, apparently, doesn't involve STATA. If you're good at this stuff and can justify its use in the face of glaring contradictions, it should be allowed as a course amongst a plurality. But to have this horribly taught, conceptualised and continued course forced on students who want to learn about politics - as opposed to computer programming - it is a moronic and led so many students away from ANU politics (in my cohort at least).
