As mentioned before Rubin is what really makes this unit great. It’s very organised and he presents it all in a very engaging way. So long as you keep up with the content and skim over the readings you’ll do pretty well in the assessments. Good broadening unit

Cannot rave about this unit more. Rubin is the best lecturer I’ve had at UWA and is so enthusiastic about the course it’ll make you feel the same. The concepts aren’t too difficult to wrap your head around the the multi choice exam is 10/10

This was by far my favourite unit this semester. Brilliant lecturer, very interesting topics of discussion and tutorials were engaging and thought-provoking. 5/5 A+

By far my favourite unit this semester. The content is so interesting, so it isn't hard to study it. Rubin does a fantastic job with analogies and really helps to explain even the trickiest of concepts. Even though I took it as a broadening unit, I found it was easily the most enjoyable unit I have taken. 10/10

This was the easiest unit i did this semester. Professor Rubin is great and introduces the concepts behind moral theories with practical examples which make them much easier to understand.Highly recommend!

PHIL1001 is a really easy unit which I definitely recommend as a broadening unit. I have an assured place in the post grad med course and I decided to do this unit to get some background in ethics. I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing some kind of ethics for their future career. We learnt about moral theories which are used today in evaluating the morality of issues such as stem cell research and abortion. The exam is easy an in a multiple choice format. The only other assessment is an essay and you get 15% for merely attending tutorials. Professor Rubin is hilariously entertaining and fantastic at teaching. Well worth doing!
