Mary Lockett Lecture Theatre

Organised by:
Western Australia Medical Students Society (WAMSS)

You joined us at the 1920's prohibition party which raised the funds - now help us to use those funds to assemble a record 800 birthing assembly kits!

ZONTA Interhealth works with Birthing Kits Foundation Australia to assemble basic birthing kits to provide to developing countries. The kits include 1x plastic sheet, 1x piece of soap, 1x pair of latex gloves, 3x pieces of string, 1x scalpel blade and 5x gauze squares, to provide a clean and safe birth for mother and newborn.
Every day in 2015, about 830 women died due to complications of pregnancy and child birth. Most of these could have been prevented. So far the Birthing Kits Foundation Australia have distributed over 1.3 millions kits worldwide - saving tens of thousands of mother and newborn lives.
Take a break from study for a night, and help us make our contribution with the assembly of 800 kits!
