When:
21 October, 2015

Location:
The Tavern

Organised by:
UWA Student Guild Women's Department

Damsel Magazine is back again after being re-launched last year! Come along to the Tavern Beer Garden at 4pm on Wednesday October 21st to grab your copy, listen to some lovely music, and mingle with the Damsel Editors and Contributors.

Damsel, the UWA Student Guild Women's Department magazine, has been intermittently published since 1997. It is the only publication on campus written and edited entirely by students who identify as women, and it discusses a wide variety of topics from a women's perspective. The 2014 magazine was the first to be published in three years. Make sure you come to pick up a (FREE) copy, and celebrate the creative works of women at UWA!

We are proud that our writers and artists come from a diverse range of backgrounds and perspectives and we hope that the magazine presents a critical and nuanced perspective on feminism and the lives of women students.

► Your ticket includes food, first access to the freshly printed magazine, and entertainment from talented Perth women. Drinks can be purchased at the bar.

► Our special guest speaker for the evening will be Dr Cynthia vanden Driesen, who is an Honorary Research Fellow in English and Cultural Studies at UWA, with a specialisation in Postcolonial Literature and Women's Studies.

► We will have musical performances from Mia Vuković, Emily Law, Julia Nicholls, and Hayley Bethh. Thanks to Jess Porter-Langson from UWA Music Students' Society for helping to organise for these amazingly talented UWA women to perform!

► Tickets are $8+bf for Guild Members and $12+bf for General Admission. Tickets can be purchased online through the link above. This event is open to people of all genders.

► This event is 18+ only, IDs will be checked at the door.
