As the sun sets over the wilderness of Nedlands and a new chapter begins for the medical students of UWA, the annual migration towards the local watering hole, known colloquially as Cap S, commences. Cries of “maaattteee” can be heard from miles around as the creatures delight in catching up with old and new friends alike over the local delicacy, Emu, or Export. The herd of students RESPONSIBLY partake in the entertainment afforded by the watering hole, including amazing drinks specials and food platters.

Meanwhile, the mating season has officially begun for some keen-eyed animals. The males will parade their plumage and flip-cup proficiency in a showing of bravado, while the females will generally ignore such behaviour as it is well accepted that such males are way too turnt.

To join in welcoming the newest members of our herd, come to Cap S at 7.00pm following the sports event in the afternoon of the same day. This event is welcome to everyone 18+ including non-medical students. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.wamss.org.au/events/medfest-sports-bras-or-sports-brahs/ and will be $10 for WAMSS members and $15 for non-members. There will also be door sales available on the night for $15.

And remember to dress to the theme – Sports Bras or Sports Brahs! The theme has been especially chosen so that you may be able to migrate in the gear you were already wearing for the sports event in the afternoon!

Kind Regards,
Davo Attenborough (who wants you to drink responsibly).
