The EMC is a team competition test that will test your Emergency Medicine skills. We have 10 stations with simulated emergencies. Stations are 12 minutes in length. These challenges are drawn from a wide variety of fields including resuscitation, trauma management, paediatrics and obstetrics.

Each team will run through each of these stations to assess and manage these medical emergencies, rotating to the next station at the end of the time limit. Points will be awarded for critical actions performed for the individual stations.

Prizes to be won for the top 3 teams, with the winning team competing at the AMSA National Convention (for those attending). Some of the prizes will be made up of textbooks provided by our fantastic academic sponsor The Unofficial Guide to Medicine, with textbooks also available on the day at fantastic prices!

All are welcomed to register, but only the first 10 teams to register will compete in the EMC.

To register, form teams of 5 students, of whom 2 must be pre-clinical.

Include in the email the names of the team members and year group.

Contact academic.events@wamss.org.au to register your team by Wed 11th May.

If you are interested in participating but can’t form a complete team, drop us an email with your name and year group and we’ll try to fit you into a group.
