Do you want real-life experience as an equity analyst?
Do you want access and exposure to leading industry professionals?
Do you want the opportunity to travel to Chicago, Illinois with expenses paid for?
If the answer is yes to any of the above, then the CFA Institute Research Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to make that happen.
The Research Challenge is a Worldwide intercollegiate competition between teams of students where teams of 3-5 students will be asked to prepare and present sell-side equity research on target company, Navitas (ASX:NVT).
Students will need to complete a thorough analysis of the publicly-traded company, write a research report and present their information to a panel of judges.
FAWA is currently seeking teams of 3-5 students to participate in the CFA Institute's annual research challenge to represent UWA.
If successful at a local level (top team in WA), the team will proceed to regional finals held in the week of April 11, 2016 in Chicago Illinois to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the competition.
For the chance to represent UWA, FAWA is hosting a small equity research challenge as part of screening. To enter, teams are required to submit a two-page (A4) document, detailing:
- the name of the stock being pitched (to be selected at the team's discretion)
- key trading information
- company overview
- industry overview
- an assessment of the company's financials
- key reasons to buy
NB: there is no set format for the design of the document, and entries will be considered based on the quality of their content rather than by the design of the document.
Please send your entries (in .doc or .pdf format) to: firstname.lastname@example.org
All applications must be received by MIDNIGHT (AWST) on Friday, August 14 2015. Successful applicants will be notified soon after.
Please note that the kick-off session will be held at a location in Perth city on August 18th in the evening. At this session teams will be provided with essential information about the challenge, so it is recommended that applicants be available on this date.
