Blackstone does Movember
1 November, 2015
Blackstone Law Students Society
THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Yes- Blackstone is doing Movember this year.
As the Movember Foundation says, the state of men’s health is in a state of crisis. Simply put, men are dying too young. We’ve really been pushing for awareness in mental health for both law students and practitioners this year, and this is why: poor mental health affects men more than women- ¾ of suicides are by men (510, 000 men die from suicide globally each year- one man every minute). These statistics are only enhanced in the law school context. Other issues, such as prostate cancer, remain at the forefront for men’s health.
We are calling on both men and women to tackle the issue of men’s health- this issue needs to be approached at a community level, and the Law School is the ideal format for this to occur so that both men and woman are aware about this pressing problem.
Mo Bros- The task is simple. Start clean shaven on November 1st. Grow and tend to your mo over the next thirty days. RAISE FUNDS AND AWARENESS FOR MEN’S HEALTH.
Mo Sistas- Do it for a bro you know. You don’t have to have a moustache to care about men’s health. Fundraise for the men in your life!
