You pretty much learn about how banks work. Different types of deposit. Calculation of interest rates. Concepts are easy to grasp. Calculation is simple. Exam is ok.

It is an upgrade to Fundamentals of Business Finance but more interesting. The subject has calculation but is financial, not mathematical. The topics are interesting such as options, shares, bonds, futures, and swap. At the end of the semester, it usually got confusing with loads of formulas and theories so I suggest students regularly do their homework and prepare well to avoid confusion among different financial variables.

Easy as hell math, you honestly shouldn't have trouble with math if you have chosen a finance major. Theory drones on quite a lot. Often you will find in the lecture slides, 3+ slides explaing something which needed 1 slide. Theory isn't hard, just very specific. Make sure to practice the tutorial questions for the final. Overall an easy subject if you can muster the effort to read the poorly worded lecture slides. Otherwise download the textbook.

Alot of math and content. You need to watch the lecture recordings to help understand the concepts. A good introductory to the finance industry.

Great introductory course to the framework of the financial structure in society.

This is a great subject. I love it.

Anonymous, Autumn session, 2016

Quite an enjoyable subject, it was quite interesting and more content heavy subject. There was few calculations here and there, but nothing too difficult.

The exam contains lots of info do don't wait until the last minute to study it

Anonymous, Semester 2, 2015

You need to know both theory and math to go well in this subject. The content is necessary if you plan to go for Finance

Anonymous, Semester 1, 2015

Easy math as long as you read and understand clearly lecture notes and do homework before hand.
