A comprehensive introduction to the theories of international relations for a first year.

Lecturer goes off on weird tangents but he is very knowledgable and the course was overall interesting and not too hard

VERY theoretical and heavy on the readings, so it was very dry and boring. Assessment tasks weren't well explained at all - nobody knew what we were supposed to do for each task, and had to stumble through it. Final exam and assignment was fairly easy even though we didn't know what to do. Lecturer has a thick accent that can be very difficult to understand. This unit gives good background knowledge of paradigms, theory etc. but would only recommend for people that love and want to pursue international relations

The content is easy to understand. Gill is very intelligent and always provides good examples to the concept. If you take note in class and read all the assigned articles, it should be easy for you to get a high grade. Overall, it's a great course to take for Year 1 student.

Easy to grasp basic concepts but the lecturer is hard to hear and the expectations for assignments are not well explained.

This course is a good introduction to international relations. The readings are suitable for first-year students. The assessments are balanced and the final exam is not overwhelming. Dr. Merom and his team of tutors are thoroughly knowledgeable in world politics; though, they take some getting used to!

not hard to get distinction, the lecturer may be boring but his notes and tutorials are great. a good intro course for international relations.

Great subject. Gil was pretty nice.

Interesting subject, lecturer is very knowledgeable however he can be extremely difficult to understand. Final exam is a multiple choice test which if readings and content is kept up with is quite manageable.

Brilliant subject. But be warned its theory heavy. Having said that, you'll use these concepts throughout your further progress in foreign policy and international relations - read the material slowly and carefully, there's some awesome stuff in there
