This is a compulsory unit taught on a pass/fail basis. The aim of the unit is to introduce students to finding and citing primary and secondary legal materials and introduce them to legal research techniques. These are skills which are essential for law students and will be required to be applied in other units.

While the subject is dry, it taught me a lot of what i need to know in my internships and law subjects

A basic short course which teaches necessary research knowledge, but don't expect it to be fun or exciting for either you or your tutors.

Loved this course! I had the author of the textbook as my conductor and he was extremely engaging, motivating and clear. The course material isn't tricky, but you do need to wholly understand concepts clearly for the final exam. If possible, I recommend trying to take this subject in Semester 1 as opposed to Semester 2. Became very useful for the Foundations assessment tasks.
