Reviews

I was hesitant before taking this subject. The content throughout the semester is pretty chilled, and the lectures were only about an hour long each. The mid-sem and the final were very easy exams. The group assignment was really difficult. If you havent done Val's its super tough. They also don't give you much help/guidance through this assignment, youre pretty on your own with it. Involves building a merger model and DCF analysis of two companies. This is by far the most difficult part of this subject. Although if you have a strong group, then the final exam and mid sem and not too content heavy make this a good subject to take. Also quite interesting.

You either hate it or love it. The content is both theory- and calculations-heavy. You'd better have done Valuations before taking this unit or you'll most certainly underpeform. Assignments are dense and put your team skills to the test. Do not take it if you are not serious about pursuing a career in investment banking or private equity.

EXTREMELY difficult, especially if you haven't done valuations. Enrol with caution - only do this if you are serious about finance! Tip: DO NOT do this in the same semester as an assessment-heavy unit! M&A has 3 assignments, presentation, mid sem and final!
