Lectures ranged from good to mediocre depending on who was delivering them. Weekly readings were mostly relevant, and I had an excellent tutor who made helpful connections between theory and practise. The assessment types have a good balance between creative writing and application of writing practise theory so not all marking is subjective. The most beneficial part of this subject by far was the chance for feedback on creative work, both in seminars and from tutors who are all professional writers to some degree.
