Are you interested in studying and/or working in the United States, but sure where / how / when to start looking for opportunities? Lucky for you, SULS International has you covered. Come join us Monday 24 October at 6PM in the LAW LOUNGE to learn more about your path to living the American dream.

The event will be comprised of panellists who have completed Master degrees at leading American law schools and subsequently worked in New York. Our panellists will provide students with advice about studying and practicing law in the United States and will share their knowledge of both the public and private legal markets.

Our panellists are:

Andrew Corkhill: Graduated from Sydney Law School in 2006 with a combined B.A./LL.B. He worked briefly as a litigation associate at Clayton Utz and clerked for a Federal Court Judge, before commencing an LL.M. at Harvard Law School in 2008. Since completing his LL.M., Andy has lived and worked in New York. He is now a partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, the world’s largest litigation-only law firm.

Rico Jedrzejczyk: Rico graduated from Sydney Law School with a combined B.A./LL.B. in 2005, following which he worked as a solicitor in the Media & Intellectual Property team at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King&Wood Mallesons) in Sydney. Rico has also completed an LL.M. at Columbia and worked as an Associate at Quinn Emanuel, where he represented clients such as AIG and Morgan Stanley in high-profile litigation. Rico has now returned to Sydney and is a barrister on Sixth Floor Selborne Wentworth Chambers specialising in commercial, taxation, defamation and construction law.

Professor Jennifer Hill is a Professor of Corporate Law at Sydney Law School and a Director of the Centre of Commercial, Corporate and Taxation Law. Professor Hill has extensive experience working as a Visiting Professor at various American law schools, including Vanderbilt University, University of Virginia, University of Texas and Cornell. She was also a Senior Global Research Fellow at NYU Law School (Pollack Center for Law and Business). Additionally, Professor Hill teaches the “US Corporate Law” course in the Law & Business program at Sydney Law School and many of her former students have gone on to practice in the US.
