Hornsby Workshop: Conversations on Human Rights
26 October, 2016
Amnesty International Society
At Bradfield's next meeting on Wednesday 26 October, 7pm at Hornsby Library we will be doing two things:
1. Skills Workshop: Develop skills in having conversations + Handling Objections
Your voice is one of the most effective tools to motivate others to act for human rights, but speaking to a friend, family member or someone at a stall can seem hard. Join us to learn what makes a powerful conversation: what are the barriers people face to taking action for human rights, and how you can help them overcome them.
Practice conversations about our current campaigns and get your chance to put them into practice at one of our upcoming stalls!
2. Write Letters for Individuals at Risk.
As part of Amnesty International's Write for Rights campaign we will come together to write letters for individuals who are currently at risk. People like lawyer and former newspaper editor, Eren Keskin, who has been a vocal critic of the Turkish state for decades. She has been prosecuted over 100 times and is at risk once again. Tell Turkey not to imprison Eren.
