Avoid mid-sem FilmSoc withdrawals and come along with us to see 'Showgirls'!

The University is hosting a screening and symposium to commemorate the 20th anniversary of this infamous cult classic. The day will start from 10am in Old Geology Lecture Theatre with a screening of the film, which will be followed by a series of academic talks.

Once dismissed as one of the worst films of all time, Paul Verhoeven's erotic drama 'Showgirls' has made a comeback in recent years and is now held by some to be contemporary masterpiece. Love it or loathe it, this is a pretty essential movie experience. Plus, it'll make a great prelude to our screening of Starship Troopers (also directed by Paul Verhoeven) in Week 10!

Entry is free and all are welcome to attend. See you there!
