“I have to return some videotapes.” — Patrick Bateman, American Psycho

Welcome to FilmSoc for 2016.

We’re kicking off the year by spending a few days in the cap-toe leather shoes of Manhattan businessman-cum-psychopath Patrick Bateman. Adapted from Brett Easton Ellis’ infamous novel, American Psycho went criminally underappreciated in 1999 but has since lingered in the minds of sadists and cult aficionados alike. Led by a chilling yet hilarious performance by Christian Bale, this subversive horror-comedy is a must-see portrait of 80’s excess.

The screening will be held at Hermann's Bar from 7pm on Thursday during week 1. Entry is free for Access cardholders and $10 for non-access. You can sign up to be a member at the FilmSoc stall during Oweek or on the night. All are welcome to free pizza and a drink voucher.
