In late April of this year Indonesian authorities carried out the executions of eight men including Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, exposing the nation to the inhumanity of the death penalty and sending shock waves across the country.

Six months on the World Day Against the Death Penalty will aim to draw global attention to these failures of justice, and promote the abolition of the death penalty world wide.

Our discussion forum will host a range of experts involved in the campaign against the death penalty, who will offer insight into the events of April, as well as looking globally to similar cases of capital punishment and what action can be taken to prevent these ongoing executions.

Guest Speakers Include:
Chris Hayes, MP for Fowler
Matthew Goldberg, President - Reprieve Australia
Dr Amy Maguire, University of Newcastle Law School
Dr Vannessa Hearman, USYD Indonesian Studies
Patrick Earle, Executive Director - Diplomacy Training Program

Join us in support of the WDADP. There will be an opportunity for QandA and discussion following the talks.

Light refreshments available.
