NOW Presents: 'We Make a Great Pair'. Boys and Girls invited
20 October, 2016
The University of Sydney Business School City Campus
Network of Women (NOW)
NOW invites you the join them for their end of year cocktail dinner and panel event.
With a theme of ‘we make a great pair,’ the night will centre on the importance of support networks and the opportunities created, both professionally and personally, when we offer and accept support from one another - be it from a sibling, parent, friend, partner or colleague.
With 36 sponsor representatives also in attendance, it will be a night to extend your industry networks too.
In light of this theme, we have three successful duo’s on our panel representing a variety of sectors and relationships.
Speaker Pair #1: Michaela Alhadeff and Daniel Selikowitz, a married couple who are both Project Leaders at consulting firm, Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Both Michaela and Daniel completed their MBA’s at Harvard University, worked in the BCG New York Office and have just had their first child. (#couplegoals)
Speaker Pair #2: Carolyn Broderick and Jane Latimer, sisters who have both been very successful in the medical and health arena. Carolyn was recently deputy medical director for the 2016 Australian RIO Olympic Team, has been team physician for other Women's sports teams (basketball, tennis), is a medical lecturer at UNSW and also a specialist at Westmead Children's Hospital. Jane is a Professor in the Sydney Medical School here at Usyd and a principal research fellow at the The George Institute for Global Health, alongside Carolyn. Both sisters are extremely passionate about women in sport, women in STEM and women's health more generally. If you're thinking the name sounds familiar, they are also the sisters of former Sex Discrimination Commissioner and 2016 NSW Australian of the year, Elizabeth Broderick. What an awesome, accomplished set of sisters!
Speaker Pair #3 Nicole Kuepper-Russell and Kirstin Hunter are both consultants currently job sharing at Bain & Company. Although coming from very different chemical engineering and law backgrounds, these two women have come together and supported one another immensely over the past 12 months, sharing a job, a nanny and work on charity projects. Both of their husbands took time off to care for their newborns and work 4 days a week to share the load at home and at work.
We invite guests to come in pairs as a symbol of your support for one another ($15pp for 2 tickets, $20pp for 1). NOW believes that in order to make real progress, men and women need to support one another. So girls we encourage you to bring along a +1 of any gender, but particularly try and bring along a brother, (boy)friend or other male counterpart and encourage them to be champions of change and support us all in achieving our goals, at home and at work.
Don’t miss out on this unique event. Secure your tickets NOW: https://www.trybooking.com/NFKK
There will also be a lucky draw prize for one special pair who will be sent to lunch at the MCA Graze Restaurant (Circular Quay) with views overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.
Can't wait to see you there.
