International House, The University of Queensland

Organised by:
UQ South Pacific Islander Association UQSPIA

What happens when you cross UQ's best international club and UQ's International House College? You get a jam-packed day full of cultural food, music, dance, arts and fun!

The University of Queensland South Pacific Islander Association (UQSPIA) put a great emphasis on cultural unity, celebrating the unique 'Nesian' cultures of the beautiful Pacific Islands through a number of avenues and events! On Saturday 7th of May, UQSPIA takes on International House - a home to students from all over the world - to offer a unique insight to the rich cultures of Australia's closest neighbours!

You are invited to join UQSPIA and the residents of International House for our first ever Pasifika Lu'au !

noun: a traditional Hawaiian party and/or feast usually accompanied by entertainment.

Enjoy a day of traditionally cooked food, cultural dance lessons, learning all about traditional arts & crafts and watch a whole lot of exhilirating performances from UQSPIA's members. Topping it off by dancing the night away under the stars!

This is a free event and it’s one you do NOT want to miss!
