We have an amazing opportunity lined up to go and spend a training evening with the Porirua Emergency Response Team (PERT) who specialise in urban search and rescue in a disaster response capacity.
This team of volunteers works to assist the emergency services in a large scale disaster event and are usually the guys working tirelessly to get the patients to us on the ground for treatment.
We have also managed to secure one of the USAR dog teams to come along, give us a demonstration on how the dogs function on a search and rescue basis and answer any questions you may have.
If we get enough interest then a scenario could be organised for us to work together in a training simulation, so make sure you register your interest!
Any questions, feel free to PM Jess Anderson and make sure to invite your friends so all 3 year groups get the chance to come along!
